Units > Jedburghs
The Jedburgh teams were elite members of the Office of
Strategic Services (OSS) sent into Nazi-occupied France,
Belgium, and the Netherlands to coordinate airdrops of arms,
ammunication, supplies, and radios to resistance members
opposing the Nazi occupation.
The Special Operations (SO) branch of the OSS ran guerrilla
campaigns and intelligence operations across the globe - in
Europe, Aisa, and other parts of the world. The Jedburgh teams
were a combination of OSS and British Special Operations
Executive (SOE) agents that infiltrated Nazi-occupied Europe.
Post World War II. After the war the OSS was disbanded. Its
functions were later assumed by the Central Intelligence Agency
(CIA) and the U.S. Army Special Forces (or Green Berets).
