With the Vietnam War heating up, Eldon Bargewell enlisted in the
Army in 1967, volunteered for Special Forces training, and then
deployed to Southeast Asia. He then volunteered for MACV-SOG. He
received his commission in 1972 and later would serve with the
newly established Delta Force. Eventually he would retire in
2006.
